update and a question

I am really enjoying my time in Venezuela - and the boys are adapting with great cheerfulness, if not yet great language skill!

I do have a question, though, as i am far far from the reach of netflix - how is the best way to go about finding episodes of the new Battlestar Galatica (i'm in season 2 right now) for viewing/downloading?

With time constraints and netflix, I've never learned anything about this - but I know my flist has people who do watch their series this way..... any tips? What is 'bitorrent' anyway?

Bittorrent is an application that allows people to share files over the internet. When you go looking for a file, say an AVI of Battlestar Galactica, it searches for people who have that file, and it downloads bits and pieces from each of them. The more people "seeding" the file, the faster your download goes.

There are a bunch of different Bittorrent clients. I use BitTornado, and I know other people use Azureus.

Once you have downloaded and installed a client, you need to find a torrent for the file you want. Mininova.org usually works for me. For example, right now, there's a torrent of the entire season 2 DVD rip, here.

What nestra said. I'll also add utorrent to the list of clients to consider, because I've used it for a while now, and it's always worked out well for me.

There's also bsg_episodes.

I'm a mac user, and at least right now utorrent doesn't seem to have a mac compatible version.
