swatkat24 pimped me to Angel because she thought I would love Lilah and the whole Wolfram & Hart scenario, as well as, hmmm, you're still on the first season so I won't spoil you, but her character arc has some classic things that appeal to me even if she is slightly younger than my usual OTC. And swatkat24 was right! But I also wound up liking Cordelia a great deal -- she's too funny not to like.
I mostly just ignore Angel. He doesn't bore me quite as much as Michael in that at least he gets exasperated with people and grumpy every so often, but he's still a very similar type. But I'm perfectly used to treating the main characters of TV shows as more or less background furniture or McGuffins to move the plot along, while I pay all my viewing attention to supporting characters' stories.
